Ingredients:
120g butter
160g brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tbsp vanilla extract
180g all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
100g chocolate chips
100g chopped hazelnuts
Pinch of salt
Optional: 1 tsp espresso powder
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
Brown the butter in a saucepan, then let cool. Mix with brown sugar.
Add egg and vanilla to butter-sugar mixture. Mix well.
Combine flour and baking powder, then gradually add to wet ingredients.
Fold in chocolate chips, hazelnuts (optionally caramelized), salt, and espresso powder if using.
Chill dough 15-20 minutes. Optionally caramelize nuts with butter and sugar.
Scoop dough onto baking sheet, space cookies apart.
Bake 10 minutes until golden but soft in the center.
For Caramelized Hazelnuts:
Roast hazelnuts, make syrup with sugar and water, add hazelnuts until coated, caramelized, and cool on parchment.
Baking Options:
9 minutes for soft cookies.
11 minutes for crispy edges.
Overnight refrigeration for firm cookies.
Optional: Add Nutella on warm cookies for extra indulgence.
